Terms and Conditions

All orders are accepted and executed on the understanding that the Purchaser is bound by the following conditions of sale, which shall constitute a binding contract, except where specifically varied in writing. In the event of the customer's order containing conditions contrary to these conditions of sale they are not accepted without written consent from the Company. The word "Compnay" in the following clauses means Matthews Display Ltd. The phrase our web site refers to www.matthewsdisplay.co.uk.

1. ORDERS
Orders placed via our web site will be treated as firm orders and processed accordingly. Requests for quotations must be made by email, telephone or fax.

Unless confirmation of telephone orders is clearly marked on the official orders the Company will accept no responsibility for duplication of despatch.

2. PRICE
Prices shown on our website are in UK sterling. Changes in quantity may affect price. The company resereve the right to vary prices without notice and to charge the Purchaser the price ruling at date of despatch. All prices on product pages are shown exclusive of VAT which will be charged at the appropriate rate.

Web site prices may vary from issued price list prices, where a price is lower on the web site, the lower price only applies to orders placed and processsed via the web site.

3. DELIVERY
Every endeavour will be made to maintain delivery dates but no responsibility for later delivery due to circumstances beyond our control will be accepted. In no case shall delay be a ground for rejecting goods or terminating the contract.

The Company accepts no responsibility for any consequences, financial or otherwise, for failure of the customer to receive goods at the delivery address provided by the customer.

Goods delivered by courier will require a signature to acknowlege receipt of the goods.

IF THE GOODS ARE DELIVERED AND APPEAR NOT IN GOOD CONDITION THEY MUST BE SIGNED FOR AS RECEIVED IN DAMAGED CONDITION. UNLESS THIS IS DONE, THE COMPANY WILL ACCEPT NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR SUBSEQUENT CLAIMS IN RESPECT OF DAMAGED OR FAULTY GOODS.

In the event of goods being returned to the Company because of failure by the customer to receive the goods, the customer will be liable for the costs incurred in returning the goods to the Compnay. No re-delivery will be made until the customer has paid for the cost of a second delivery and reimbursed the Company for the cost of returning the goods to the Company.

4. CATALOGUES AND BROCHURES
No responsilbility is accepted for contingencies arising from errors and omissions in data, specifications or prices from our web site, company quotations or catalogues.

5. CANCELLATION AND RETURNS
If you wish to cancel an order or return an item please call us on 01634 - 852628, or email us at info@matthewsdisplay.co.uk to authorise the return. Non authorised returns my be rejected.

We are happy to accept return of goods in their original packaging only and if in perfect condition and at the buyer's cost. The original carriage charge will not be credited, subject to the following.

All sales are final and we do not supply goods on a trial basis or sale or return basis. However the you are entitled to cancel your order within 7 days from delivery of the goods for a full credit or refund less any applicable delivery charges providing:

1. The goods must be unused and as new in their orginal packaging including all manuals and accessories and the packaging must be in pristine condition.
2. Any items which have been unpacked from their original packaging will be deemed USED and will not qualify for a refund or credit.
3. You must notify us within 7 days from date of delivery to return the goods in writing either by post, fax or email. We will acknowledge this by email and your goods must be received by us within 14 days of this acknowledgement. During this period it is your responsibility to return the goods to us at your own cost and risk. We will not accept any goods back after the 14 day period.

GOODS RECEIVED BACK IN ANY CONDITION OTHER THAN AS NEW WILL BE RETURNED BACK TO YOU AT YOUR COST OR MADE AVAILABLE FOR YOU TO COLLECT.

6. FAULTY RETURNS
Should an item fail or develop a fault please contact us as soon as possible as many faults can be resolved quickly over the telephone. If the item needs to be returned you must return the faulty item directly yourself. When the goods have been received, inspected and found to be faulty we will despatch a replacement item to you as soon as possible. We cannot accept return of goods that have been dismantled or a self repair has been attempted.

If the item is not found to be faulty it will be returned to you at your cost.

This returns policy does not affect your legal rights.

7. CLAIMS
Unless claims for shortages or damage are notified in writing to the carrier (by signing for the goods as DAMAGED and to MDL within three days of receipt no liability will be accepted by the company. In the event of non-delivery the company must be advised in writing within 10 days from placing the order.

8. PAYMENT
Payment is to be made in full prior to goods being dispatched.

9. OWNERSHIP
The ownership of the goods shall remain with the company until such time as all sums owing to the company whether under this contract or any other have been paid.

10. LIMITED LIABILITY
Any liability which we may incur to you in contract (including liability in negligence) arising out of or as a result of:

A. Any failure to supply or deliver goods.
B. Any delay in delivery of goods
C. Any defect in any goods or service.
D. Failure of a product to perform where liability for testing for suitability lays with you
shall be limited to the purchase of the goods in question. Your statutory rights are not affected.
